  • Yanina and Ross' wedding at Glasgow City Chambers & Chaophraya & Palm Sugar Lounge in Gl

Yanina and Ross contacted me sometime in the summer last year about their plans to get married. They were looking for someone who take candid, natural and relaxed photos and I caught their attention. The idea was to have a small and intimate ceremony at Glasgow City Chambers followed by a family dinner at Chaophraya & Palm Sugar Lounge. The wedding day was amazing. Both of them were so chilled out and so happy that they are getting married. Surrounded by family and friends, they said “I do”. Shortly after we got away to take some couples photos near Glasgow City Chambers, Cochrane Street, George Square. Chaophraya - impressive venue with contemporary Thai design and character gave us more photo opportunities. After cutting of the cake and short speeches everyone sat down to enjoy a meal and celebrate Bride & Groom love and relationship. It was a pure joy and pleasure to capture memories for Yanina & Ross. I really, really enjoyed working with such a beautiful couple.

  • Cheryl & Richard's wedding at The Vu in Bathgate near Edinburgh, Scotland.

Warm and beautiful May day... it all started at Cheryl's mum house when the bride and all of her stunning bridesmaids and one lovely flower girl were getting ready. Shortly after we all drove down to magnificent The Vu in Bathgate near Edinburgh. After the ceremony couple and guests enjoyed canapes and champagne reception, then we took a walk around the beautiful grounds of this wedding venue. With such charming and loving couple and gorgeous backdrop, it wasn't really difficult to take wonderful images. Before everyone sat down to the meal we managed to take a couple of group shoots, shortly after speeches commenced. Yet another opportunity to take some great photos. In a meanwhile caricaturist was doing his job. Once the meal was over fantastic as always Stewart Reid wedding band was getting ready to rock the crowd whilst couple and their guest were having some time together when I spotted another opportunity to take more breathtaking photos. Shortly after it was time for cake cutting followed by first dance and dancing. I had a great time capturing memories for Cheryl and Richard. • Shannon & Scott's wedding at Ingliston Country Club Bishopton near Glasgow in Scotland.

Where should I start with this wedding… first of all Shannon & Scott is one of the most easy-going couple I had a pleasure of working with. I remember when we had our initial meeting back in 2016… I sat down, opened my notepad and we started to have a chat about their wedding. A couple of minutes later I realized Shannon gave me not only a wrong month, but also a year in her initial enquiry. Scott of course couldn’t stop laughing and complimenting his fiancé (at that moment) how that is “typical” of her. After a moment of silence and confirming I am available on their date we had a really nice talk about their plans. Nearly 2 years later I was photographing beautiful Shannon getting ready at her mum’s house following wedding ceremony and evening reception at Scotland’s best Ingliston Country Club Bishopton near Glasgow in Scotland. Having in mind it was the end of October we had the most beautiful day and you can clearly see it in the photos. It was a pure joy and pleasure capturing memories for Shannon & Scott. They have both been amazing, I really had a great day and loved spending time with them. And that’s what makes me very happy as a wedding photographer.

  • Laura & James' Wedding at Tullibole Castle, Perthshire in Scotland.

A beautiful autumn day in Scotland… On Saturday 7th October last year I captured the wedding celebration of Laura & James at 17th-century castle in Crook of Devon, a village in Perthshire - Tullibole Castle. This is yet another source of inspiration for every couple planning a wedding. Full of surprising details like hanging picture frames of loved ones during the ceremony, an incredible wedding bouquet with an apple right in the middle, a well for cards and of course the highlight of the day - the wellie boots competition. It was a pure celebration of their love and relationships with family and friends and I had a great joy and pleasure capturing memories for Laura & James. Thanks for choosing and inviting Karol Makula Photography to be a part of this amazing day.

  • Alicia & Daniel's Wedding at Mar Hall and Bishopton Parish Church near Glasgow, Scotland

It was my very first time shooting a wedding at Mar Hall. I have heard only good things about this venue and I wasn’t disappointed. Beautiful, both inside and outside with great potential for amazing wedding photos. December wedding so you think… cold, snow, ice. When I arrived at the venue the temperature was plus 12 on my car's dashboard. Daniel, the Groom appeared minutes later wearing just a T-shirt and believe me that was just the right outfit for that weather. What a fantastic start of the day! Apparently the day before it was freezing cold and he couldn’t play golf - Alicia, the Bride told me when I was up in her room for preparations. I feel his pain and know exactly how it feels when the grass is frosted. After preparations we headed down to the nearby Bishopton Parish Church where the ceremony was held. A small, intimate and fascinating church where you could hear every tiny squeak. Probably that's why I was sent up to the gallery. I had a perfect spot for taking photos from every possible angle. Beautiful location and the church itself was very similar to the one I got married. After the ceremony, we drove back to Mar Hall for the wedding reception. Before the couple and their guest were seated for a meal we took some amazing shots with Alicia & Daniel. Again, you wouldn’t believe the wedding took place in December! Finally, there were couple of family photos on the list, it was already dark outside so we decided to take them inside in a hallway. Not long after everyone was seated for a meal in a beautifully set-up room where the speeches began. Once it was all over it was time for some dancing and as always “Ernest” wedding band did not disappoint. I had the most amazing time capturing memories for Alica & Daniel, the wedding was full of love and laughter. You could feel it was a pure celebration of their relationship with family and friends. I honestly love my job and being able to photograph weddings like this... it makes me very happy inside.

  • Sarah & David's Wedding at Canongate Kirk and Prestonfield House in Edinburgh

A cold, crisp but sunny December day at the bottom of Pentland Hills. That’s where it all started - Swanston Farm Cottages, beautiful surroundings and I had no idea it even existed. After preparations we head down to very beautiful Kirk of the Canongate in Edinburgh's Old Town where the marriage ceremony took place. Once it was over myself, Sarah and David quickly drove down (I even managed to take some photos) to the spectacular Prestonfield House which the happy couple chose to hold their evening reception. Being ahead couple of minutes before the guest's arrival we managed to take some beautiful shots. Massive thanks to Sarah and David for holding tight in freezing conditions. On the other hand, I think we had the most amazing sun I have ever seen on wedding in December. It made me excited like my 4-year-old son when he gets a coca cola chupa chups after a week of abstinence from sugar :) The rest is history! It was a pure please to share this fantastic day with such a lovely and loving couple. Thanks again for choosing Karol Makula Photography to capture memories for you.

  • Wedding albums

This is going to be something new! Apart from shooting weddings I can also provide amazing choice of wedding albums. Today I would like to present two of them. These are screenshots only, once albums are ready (4/5 weeks) I promise to post some real life photos. However this is a perfect opportunity to see how your wedding album can be personalised. Chloe & Chris, they got married in August 2017 at Crieff Hydro, Scotland. Chloe told me... Karol I want pink with gold engraving on the cover. As pink was not available in leather cover I suggested one of my favourite - maple. It's available in 6 different colours and one of them is... pink. Sharon & Ali, they got married in September 2017 at Dalmahoy in Edinburgh, Scotland. When we had our pre wedding meeting, Sharon & Ali instantly feel in love with "Crystal Glance" acrylic cover and their page finish choice was "metallic". They also decided to choose ultramarine leather for back and spine. This combo is one of my favourite too. It will last forever!

  • Bethany & Steven's sneak peek from Bunchrew House in Inverness, Scotland

Last Thursday I had a pleasure of photographing my very last wedding of the year 2017. The wedding of Bethany & Steven. It took place at beautiful and picturesque Bunchrew House in Inverness on the other coast of Scotland. It was almost 400 miles trip... exhausted, but so worth the effort. Perfect example why I LOVE my job.
