It was my very first time shooting a wedding at Mar Hall. I have heard only good things about this venue and I wasn’t disappointed. Beautiful, both inside and outside with great potential for amazing wedding photos. December wedding so you think… cold, snow, ice. When I arrived at the venue the temperature was plus 12 on my car's dashboard. Daniel, the Groom appeared minutes later wearing just a T-shirt and believe me that was just the right outfit for that weather. What a fantastic start of the day! Apparently the day before it was freezing cold and he couldn’t play golf - Alicia, the Bride told me when I was up in her room for preparations. I feel his pain and know exactly how it feels when the grass is frosted. After preparations we headed down to the nearby Bishopton Parish Church where the ceremony was held. A small, intimate and fascinating church where you could hear every tiny squeak. Probably that's why I was sent up to the gallery. I had a perfect spot for taking photos from every possible angle. Beautiful location and the church itself was very similar to the one I got married. After the ceremony, we drove back to Mar Hall for the wedding reception. Before the couple and their guest were seated for a meal we took some amazing shots with Alicia & Daniel. Again, you wouldn’t believe the wedding took place in December! Finally, there were couple of family photos on the list, it was already dark outside so we decided to take them inside in a hallway. Not long after everyone was seated for a meal in a beautifully set-up room where the speeches began. Once it was all over it was time for some dancing and as always “Ernest” wedding band did not disappoint. I had the most amazing time capturing memories for Alica & Daniel, the wedding was full of love and laughter. You could feel it was a pure celebration of their relationship with family and friends. I honestly love my job and being able to photograph weddings like this... it makes me very happy inside.
