When you think of a wedding in Edinburgh you surely think Edinburgh Castle! The fairy tale location with breathtaking views and endless and I mean endless opportunities for amazing photos! I had a pleasure to photograph Amanda + Calum wedding, here at Edinburgh Castle last September. I knew since day one, this wedding is going to be amazing. I was right. Weather in September (here in Scotland, especially) can be a little bit unpredictable... but this wedding had it all - beautiful scenery, romance, history, nostalgia, tiny rain drops quickly vanishing into romantic atmosphere.. It all started early in the morning with Amanda getting ready. It was a beautiful start of the day filled with excitement, joy and laughter. Whilst Amanda and her bridal party were getting ready, Martin from Martin Venherm Photography was with Calum and his wedding gang. I have to say, having a second shooter, it’s always a good idea! I love to pair and look at the photos that were shot at the same time! It’s so unique. Later in the day, we have arrived at Edinburgh Castle and that was absolutely breathtaking! Going down through the winding road filled with nothing but darkness and occasional tiniest light was quite an experience... It was magical! The wedding ceremony was so effortlessly romantic, filled with closest family and friends. Queen Anne Room made a perfect location for such intimate wedding. Shortly after the ceremony we decided to head for more private photos outside the castle. I was expecting an endless number of people, but to my amazement there was not a single person in sight! As the sun began to lower in the sky, it created the most beautiful scenery for photos. Peace and tranquillity... pure perfection! Amanda + Calum rejoined their wedding reception shortly after the photos. The reception was full of energy, emotions and tears of laughter! Especially during the speeches when the best man delivered some of the stories... This is a part of the day I always look forward to photograph! Evening entertainment and traditional Ceilidh dancing was provided by amazing “Reely Jiggered” wedding band! What an amazing day, thank you Amanda + Calum for having me!

Today on my blog, I am delighted to share a fantastic wedding of Amy & Chris. They got married at the breathtaking Boturich Castle on the banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland. This was my very first time shooting at this venue and I LOVED it! It’s shockingly beautiful with anything you want for perfect wedding photos. Castle, amazing grounds and of course magnificent views. From the moment I met with the couple I knew it’s going to be one of a kind wedding. On the day they were so happy and relaxed - pleasure to photograph… actually… I think they were the most laid back couple ever! Laughing and smiling the whole time! The weather was insane - a little bit foggy at the beginning, but in my opinion, it only added some "magic", especially for the ceremony. All cleared up later during the day and with such amazing couple it was dead easy to take some beautiful photos. What I will always remember about this wedding… well a huge smile on Amy’s face (all day long), a tear in Chris’ eye when he saw the bride for the first time, crazy bridesmaid (Amy’s sister), a fog in the morning - there was something special about it, beautiful skies later during the day, which made absolutely breathtaking background for photos, Kevin - top class wedding coordinator who somehow managed to take a really great care about everyone and everything, personalised photos of all guests - what an effort... and of course Groom’s promise to buy Amy a dog.
